About Department

• M.Sc. Forensic Science was started in the Department of Genetics in 2010 under Faculty of Life Sciences (Second time in Haryana).
• Ph.D. Forensic Science was started in 2013 (First time in Haryana).
• M.Sc. Forensic Science was funded by UGC-Innovative Program during 2012-17.
• Established as an independent Department of Forensic Science under Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies w.e.f. 17/03/2021.
• The Department is best-known for its contribution in DNA Forensics, Forensic Entomology, Wildlife Forensics, Forensic Diatomology & Forensic Chemical Science.

*Five additional seats over and above in M.Sc. Forensic Science, Department of Genetics have been reserved for Military Personnel / Police Personnel and Personnel from Health Department, Haryana. Admission against the supernumerary seats shall be made on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination. However, they are required to apply on separate application form to the concerned Department/Institute by the date notified by the University.
